Origin:
Mini Poodles are believed to be of German descent, originally called Pudelhund, but their true history still remains a mystery. The German name roughly translates to splash dogs, named because of their swimming and water retrieval capabilities. Since the breed’s creation, France has adopted it as its national dog.
History
The Mini Poodle, though often equated to the beauty with no brains, is exceptionally smart, active and excels in obedience training. He is also the only breed that comes in three size varieties. This size choice may be why the Poodle is one of the most popular breeds according to AKC Registration Statistics.
