Origin:
The Miniature Australian Shepherd’s origins are vague, but at least one ancestor can be traced back to the herding dogs of Spain, the Basque. Once the breed arrived to the U.S., the Basque was quickly bred with other herding breeds to create the Aussies of today.
History
The Miniature Australian Shepherd is an intelligent working dog of strong herding and guarding instincts. It is a loyal companion with the stamina to work all day. It is well-balanced, with coloring that offers variety and individuality. Attentive and animated, the Miniature Australian Shepherd is a graceful, solid and muscular puppy. It is a coat of moderate length and coarseness. It is a docked or natural bobbed tail.
